Underwater Sports is a full service NAUI Dive Center. The
National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI Worldwide)
is the oldest, most respected and second largest diver training
agency in the world. Established in 1959 as a not-for-profit
membership association and organized solely to support and
promote Dive Safety Through Education, NAUI continues as the
recognized leader in innovative diving education. NAUI Worldwide
offers a full range of training programs from Skin Diver through
Instructor Course Director, with dozens of specialty courses

We
are occasionally asked to conduct PADI (Professional Association
of Dive Instructors) certification, and our PADI instructors
can meet these desires. However, after years of comparing
different programs, we believe that NAUI offers both more
flexibility in training and a more comprehensive curriculum.
What this means to the student is that your NAUI instructor
has the flexibility to adjust his approach to your specific
needs. This "student-centered" concept permits us
to put the student's unique requirements ahead of a rigid
pre-planned format of instruction. If you need more time to
grasp a particular skill, your instructor can either decide
to teach that skill a bit differently, or he can change the
schedule so you can move ahead with other skills and return
to the more challenging skill later.
This
flexibility does not mean that the course is unstructured
or "ad hoc." Quite the contrary, our instructors
are trained to meet comprehensive standards, both for ethics
and for instruction. These standards will always guide your

NAUI
prides itself in the quality of its training programs and
materials - and Chesapeake Underwater Sports carries on this
tradition. One of the most telling aspects of NAUI Instructor
Training and Certification is the question that every Course
Director/Instructor Training asks himself/herself before granting
an instructor certification. That question is, "Would
I trust this individual with the responsibility of teaching
my loved ones how to dive."
Chesapeake
Underwater Sports, and its instructors, have trained several
thousand unique individuals to dive. You will have the benefit
of extensive professional instructional experience starting
with your first class and continuing on until you reach your
